Redefining Electric Superbike Limits
American engineer Chip Yates, along with aerospace engineers Ben Ingram and Robert Ussery, developed this all-electric superbike prototype to compete in the WERA Road Race and Superbike racing series. Based on a modified Suzuki GSX-R750 frame, it is powered by a 194-hp DC electric motor with lithium-ion batteries tuned to produce 240 hp and allowing it to reach a top speed of over 190 mph. Proving its high-performance design, Yates has claimed eight International Motorcycling Federation land speed records and four AMA (American Motorcyclist Association) speed records on his innovative, all-electric superbike.
