Aerodynamic Style and Luxury

Developed by Maurice Gaultier, the luxurious D8 was one of the first vehicles Delage offered after the company turned its focus from building racing cars to production vehicles in the late 1920s. The dramatic streamlined coachwork of this Aérosport, crafted by luxury coachbuilder Letourneur et Marchand, was inspired by the early research of aerodynamicist Jean Andreau. Its design was so highly regarded that an identical example was chosen to represent the French Government in its automotive display at the 1939 World’s Fair in New York.
