Concept City Car

The 1969 Corwin was designed and built by Cliff Hall, chief photographer for the African-American newspaper the Los Angeles Sentinel. The Corwin was designed to be a small, mid-engine car that would provide city residents with a nimble vehicle that could maneuver through dense urban traffic. Intended to be manufactured in Los Angeles, Hall imagined that local production of the car would improve the economic conditions of black communities. Thus, in addition to mobility, the coupe was intended to provide employment and economic freedom.
