Dreams of 3D Printing
Designed by concept artist and designer Nick Pugh, the Xeno III is a “personal concept car” that represents a new approach to individualized automobile design and production. Rejecting modern functionalism and traditional automotive styling, Pugh gave the car a crystalline configuration, envisioning a future in which a car’s external form grows from its internal structure. Pugh intended the Xeno III to serve as an example of a design that could be created using a “Personal Manufacturing Unit,” a futuristic 3D printer that could build a car within hours.
