Three-Wheel EV

Produced by High Mileage Vehicles Inc. of Burnsville, Minnesota, from 1979 to 1982, the Free-Way was a three-wheeled microcar developed by Dave Edmonson in response to the nation’s concerns about fuel reliability and gas prices following the 1973 OPEC oil embargo and subsequent oil crises. The one-door, one-seat, one-headlight fiberglass Free-Way was available to order in gas, diesel, and electric versions, though no diesel cars and very few electric versions were sold. The tiny vehicle was classified as a motorcycle.
