Trendsettin’ Bel Air

OG Tweet, one of the founders of The King of Chevys classic car restoration shop, has been restoring cars and building lowriders since the 1980s. When Tweet began his customizing career, he could not afford the ample chrome and other accessories associated with lowriders, so he focused his resources on the hydraulic suspension systems. “Trendsetter” was conceived with this concept in mind. Referred to as a “traditional,” it has a stock exterior but extensive hydraulics. It was also built at a time when 1957 Bel Airs were considered too valuable to customize—thus the name “Trendsetter”—an attitude that has since changed.
