Delahaye built this roadgoing version of their successful racing Type 145 for the 1939 New York World’s Fair. Boasting the streamlined bodywork of Figoni et Falaschi, it was meant to feature a retooled 145 engine, but time constraints led it to be shipped without it. Following the outbreak of WWII, the car was fitted with a second-hand Cadillac powerplant and sold at a US auction. Peter and Merle Mullin discovered the car in a Fresno garage in 1984 and reunited it with its intended engine, making whole one of the finest examples of Art Deco automobile design.
