This Delahaye Type 175 was purchased off the Figoni et Falaschi stand at the 1949 Paris Salon by the Maharaja of Mysore, ruler of one of the wealthiest states in British-ruled India. Originally it was configured as an enclosed sedan with a sunroof. After being sold out of the royal motor pool, a subsequent owner transformed it from a fixed-head coupe into a cabriolet and painted it bright red. It would later be purchased by flamboyant pop star, Elton John.
