Timeless Elegance, Otherworldly Performance: Enzo’s Last Project

The F40 was the last Ferrari vehicle whose development was personally overseen by Enzo Ferrari himself. Introduced in 1987 to celebrate Ferrari’s 40th anniversary, the F40 replaced the 288 GTO as the firm’s top-performance road car. Its design utilized a lightweight chassis fabricated from specially bonded Kevlar and carbon fiber, which helped it become Ferrari’s first production vehicle to exceed 199 miles per hour. Although plans called for just 400 to be built, demand drove production to more than triple.
