A car enthusiast’s true canvas isn’t the open road—it’s the garage. It’s the ultimate space to showcase our most prized builds, curate rare automotive art, display scale models, and express what drives us.
Our new YouTube series dives headfirst into this form of self-expression, touring the sacred spaces of legendary car enthusiasts worldwide. To kick things off this weekend, we’re stepping inside the sanctuaries of comedic legend Tim Allen and automotive photo-journalist Larry Chen.
Here’s a teaser of our favorite details from the upcoming episodes to get your engine revving.
Highlights From Tim Allen’s Garage

1. Tim’s Daily Driver: the Mustang GTD
Most people have a daily driver. Tim Allen has a Mustang GTD. His verdict? “I call it the driving felony.” Honestly, we can’t think of a better description.

2. A Piece of Trucking Royalty
Fulfilling a childhood dream of becoming a truck driver, Tim acquired a 1939 Studebaker—one of only five known to still exist. Believed to be one of the earliest sleeper cabs ever built (a Spector Motor Service #11), Tim purchased it from a veteran and hand-built the cab frame himself. As for the cramped sleeping quarters? Tim remains skeptical: "I don't know how anyone actually sleeps in that bed."

3. A Tiny Tribute... Literally
Tim’s iconic 1946 Ford—restored on the set of Home Improvement—holds a permanent spot in his heart. But back when he was filming on the Disney lot, his habit of driving a bit too fast prompted the studio to downgrade him to a comically tiny custom cart to get around. "There’s no way you don't look like a clown car because your head sticks out the top," Tim joked. "Still, I love driving fast on the Disney lot—especially when you’re not supposed to."
Highlights From Larry Chen’s Garage

1. The Pint-Sized Porsche 911 Go-Kart
We knew filming with Larry was going to be wild the second this miniature Porsche 911 rolled out. It’s small, surprisingly quick, and every bit as ridiculous as it sounds. You’ll have to watch the full episode to see it sideways.

2. A Relic from Irwindale Speedway
Sitting just outside Larry’s studio is a raw slab of asphalt—a literal piece of the legendary, now-closed Irwindale Speedway. For Larry, it’s a sacred piece of Southern California car culture. "That’s the place where I pretty much cut my teeth," Larry shared. "We drag raced, drifted, did burnouts there... and this is what’s left of it."

3. Larry’s Latest Project Car…
Larry’s newest project car literally arrived days before our crew showed up—it still had saltwater residue on the body from transport, with the engine arriving later that afternoon. It’s a low-mileage, imported 1996 Honda Accord SiR (Chassis #89), which Larry firmly calls "the best Honda Accord of all time." His mission? Save a platform that’s usually neglected or beat to death, and build it into an absolute track-ready hot rod.
Tune in this weekend on YouTube to watch the full garage tours!
