In his 1959 novel Goldfinger, Ian Fleming cast the Aston Martin DB Mark III as James Bond’s personal vehicle. Five years later, filmmakers introduced the Aston Martin DB5 as the British spy’s vehicle of choice in the film adaptation. With its British origins, bespoke design, and meticulous engineering, the DB5 was an appropriate reflection of the secret agent’s character. For the 2021 film No Time to Die, Aston Martin created this working stunt car using scans of a period-manufactured DB5. Its hand-built carbon fiber bodywork and spaceframe chassis made it both lightweight and durable enough for high-speed stunts during filming.
