1979 ASTON MARTIN BULLDOG Concept

The Aston Martin Bulldog is a one-off mid-engine British concept vehicle produced in 1979 and debuted to the public in 1980 to showcase Aston Martin’s engineering and design capabilities. In contrast to the rounded designs of its predecessors, the Bulldog featured a pronounced wedge shape penned by William Towns, representing the company’s capacity for innovation. Its flamboyant design features five center-mounted, hidden headlamps, as well as large, power-operated gullwing doors. Aston Martin’s goal was to manufacture the first production car with a top speed over 200 mph, but the prototype Bulldog fell just short of that mark and proved too complicated and expensive for even a limited production run.
