In Fast & Furious 6, criminal mastermind Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) and his team drive “flip cars”—custom cars designed to overturn vehicles at high speeds—as they perform heists on military convoys. Fast X reimagined the design, originally based on that of Formula 1 cars,  with an updated 6-wheel layout that referenced the 1976 Tyrrell P34. Its industrial-yet-innovative design mirrors Shaw’s brash and resourceful personality in the films. Vehicle builder Dennis McCarthy of Vehicle Effects designed and constructed the vehicles for filming.
