1999 NISSAN SKYLINE GT-R - 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)

Drawing on the model’s high regard in the JDM community, filmmakers cast a Nissan GT-R as Brian O’Conner’s (Paul Walker) first vehicle in 2 Fast 2 Furious. Production customized the model with bold graphics, blue neon underglow, and a “NOS” system, dramatizing styles popular among JDM tuners of the early 2000s. This example was one of four GT-Rs imported new from Japan for 2 Fast 2 Furious and was used to film the jump scene of the first four-way street race. It was later used as a second hero car after the principal car was accidentally damaged during a take. Its original RB26DETT engine can produce up to 280 horsepower.
