Common Questions

Everything you need to know for Junior Concour!

Registration opens in the winter. All entrants must purchase a Participant Ticket and submit an entry form by March 01. After purchasing your ticket, you will automatically receive an official Participant Packet with additional competition details, such as rules and entry requirements.

All submissions have the chance to win prizes. Submitting a complete entry can earn a higher point value from the judges, increasing your chances of winning, but it does not guarantee a prize. All judging criteria will be taken into consideration when calculating the final score. A complete submission must include both a sketch of the entry and a scale model. Incomplete submissions (either just a sketch or just a scale model) are still eligible, but they may not win a prize.

Participants will be divided into one of three grade level groups: Kindergarten - 3rd Grade, 4th Grade - 7th Grade, and 8th Grade - 12th Grade. Judging will be based on the criteria outlined in the Judging Guidelines, included in the Participant Packet. All judges’ decisions are final.

Any attempts to influence judges will result in immediate disqualification. In summary, the following shall apply:

  • The Judging Guidelines will determine how points will be awarded based on Construction, Design, and Presentation as well as how to handle ties.
  • The criteria as outlined in the Entry Requirements will also be considered and contribute towards overall award points.

Judges will determine an overall winner for each grade level group. A Spectators’ Choice award will also be awarded based solely on popularity determined by the entry that receives the most public votes. A total of 4 awards will be presented at the Junior Concours showcase. Winners will receive a trophy, gift card, tickets, and other fun treats!
