The 3rd Annual Highway Earth Classic Car Show has opened early registration to prior entrants for its Sunday, June 26th, community-based and enthusiast-infused car show, and will be limiting its display field to only 150 vehicles of interest that will once again wrap the 1.2-mile lake at Franklin Canyon Park (2600 Franklin Canyon Dr.) in Beverly Hills.  Official registration will begin on May 1st at 10am.  The Los Angeles-based automotive tradition will be showing a combination of classic and privately owned collector cars, as well as hot rods and other unique modes of transportation, with strength in sponsor support and growth in credibility as noted by this year’s headline sponsor, Hagerty – the passionate specialists in Classic Car Insurance.

According to automotive photographer and producer Evan Klein, the integrity and presence of the entire program has grown from previously only local involvement to contributions by globally recognized organizations including Hagerty Classic Car Insurance; the Petersen Museum; unique restoration resources such as ICON; manufacturers including Acura and Alfa Romeo; and media outlets such as Petrolicious.  “While our little show is finally getting recognition by some of the ‘big league’ players in the car field, we’re keeping a personalized approach to owner involvement,” said Klein.  “Our goal remains to retain an environment of true community with an all-inclusive approach to participation – and at the same time, we hope the contributions we gain will be helpful on a charitable front.”

This year’s show proceeds, including the nominal $20 registration fee, supports Parkinson’s research and patient care – a cause that many in the automotive field were challenged by, including America’s first Formula One World Champion, Phil Hill and motorsports legend David Love.

For student enthusiasts, ages 7-16, Hagerty will additionally be sponsoring Highway Earth’s ‘Youth Judging,’ where 15 chosen youth judges will partake in the awarding of the best cars at the show.  Each ‘Youth Judge’ will additionally receive hats, t-shirts, clipboards and water.  Hagerty’s Youth Judging Program brings the world of classics to a kid friendly level. The Young Judges are guided through the show field as a group to pre-selected show cars and interact with owners, allowing the judges to learn details, history and fun facts about each.
