On first glance, the Chevrolet Biscayne might not stand out on a crowded street. It was primarily marketed as a fleet car, however, the public also found interest in the low-cost, frugal automobile. This example was originally intended to be a High Performance Police Interceptor in Nevada, but was purchased by a private owner before going into service. The donor took the already potent 427 Big Block V8 and increased it to 465 cubic inches, and installed numerous high-performance modifications, making this Biscayne Sedan a true “sleeper”. It’s unassuming exterior belies its true high-performance nature. The Chevrolet Biscayne was introduced as an entry-level model in 1958, and production continued through 1975.
