Specially built to compete in the 1980 24 Hours of Le Mans race, this Porsche 936 was driven by renowned racers Reinhold Joest and Jacky Ickx for the Martini Racing team. Although it was technically a 936, the car was entered as a 908/80 then later returned to its original designation. It finished second place overall despite having been in the lead for the first half of the race. It went on to win ten Interserie Races in 1981 and 1982. Only four of the powerful Porsche 936s were ever built, two of which remain in the ownership of Porsche.
