R90S

Two Cylinders

The R90S became the flagship of the BMW sports touring lineup when it was introduced in 1973. It marked a stylistic departure from previous BMWs with its “bikini” fairing and unusual sunburst paint scheme, which was applied by hand. With the ability to reach 60 miles per hour in less than five seconds, the R90S was among the fastest motorcycles of the 1970s. In 1976, the R90S placed first and second at the inaugural AMA Superbike race at Daytona International Speedway.
