1968 AAR Indy Eagle Rislone Special #3

he first of Bobby Unser’s three Indy 500 wins came in 1968 while driving this Rislone-sponsored Eagle, purchased by Leader Cards Inc. of Milwaukee. This car was the first turbocharged car to win the Indy 500, as well as the first to break the 170 mile per hour barrier. In the same race, Dan Gurney’s #48 Eagle took second place, the only other car to finish within the same lap. The Rislone Special had a prominent role in the film Winning, which featured fellow race enthusiast Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward and Robert Wagner.
