1939 Bugatti Type 64 Chassis
This Type 64 is the result of a decade of research, design, and fabrication conducted by Peter Mullin, ArtCenter College of Design students, Stewart Reed and Mike Kleeve’s Automobile Shaping Company. After acquiring the Type 64 chassis in 2003, Mullin challenged ArtCenter students to envision a body that would convey the immense potential of what would have been Jean Bugatti’s final design. This body would highlight Jean’s groundbreaking Papillon (butterfly) doors, and build upon the sumptuous design of the Atlantic. The coachwork was unveiled at ArtCenter College of Design’s annual Car Classic on October 27, 2013.
