1937 Ford “Alien”
1969 AMBR Winner
Hand-built by noted hot rod fabricators and custom painters Art and Mike Himsl, the fanciful Alien roadster was featured in the August 1969 issue of Rod and Custom magazine and awarded the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster (AMBR) trophy later that year at the National Roadster Show. The body, constructed from plywood and fiberglass, sits on a 1937 Ford chassis powered by a Ford V-8 with Shelby heads. The roof is transparent and slopes so dramatically that it also serves as the windscreen.
