1912 Indian Board Track Racer
The Hendee Manufacturing Company produced its first V-twin “Double Cylinder Racer” in 1906. After a record-breaking transcontinental trek from San Francisco to New York, and a victory in the 1907 and 1908 1000 Mile Trials, Indian’s racing successes capture the attention of U.S. and European enthusiasts. By 1911, Indian riders held every American speed and distance record and took the top three positions in first Isle of Man race. Among privateers, Indian became a popular base for constructing personalized racing motorcycles.
